Horse Drawn Hearse

This horse drawn funeral hearse driven by Joe Tetz Coach and Hearse Co. located in New Tripoli, PA. built in 1902 by Pease in Merrimack Mass.
Is for hire and can be used for taking the casket from the funeral home to the church and then to the cemetery, or a transfer from the funeral car to the horse drawn hearse just before the cemetery if the distance would be to far to travel.

Our Friesian's
Meet our team of Friesian horses the horses that will be pulling the horse drawn funeral hearse or the horse drawn military caission.Friesians are the kindest, most intelligent, most trainable horses in the world. Friesians excel in Dressage, as harness horses, and on trails. Their wonderful dispositions set them apart from all other breeds as the perfect family companion. The name of the Friesian breed originates from “Friesland” (“Fryslan” in the Friesian language), one of the eleven provinces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, situated in the northwest of Europe. It is an old country, with a history dating back to 500 B.C. The Friesian horse was originally imported to North America in the seventeenth century but the breed was totally lost in North America due to crossbreeding. The Friesian was not reintroduced to North America until 1974. There are currently more than 30,000 Friesians registered worldwide in the Dutch Friesch Paarden Stamboek. Approximately 2,000 of those horses are in North America today

Above the hearse was part of a Funeral service in Orange New Jersey for Woody Funeral Home, Going from the church on Hillside Ave New Jersey, to the Rosedale Cemetery in Orange New Jersey. Here the family members walked with the hearse on the way to the cememtery in New Jersey.

The Riderless Horse
One of the oldest and most evocative of military traditions in a full honor funeral is that of the riderless, caparisoned horse. The horse is led behind the caisson wearing an empty saddle with the riders boots reversed in the stirrups. This indicates the warrior will never ride again..

This coach is used for transporting pall bearers to the grave site following the hearse or caisson or the family also can use this coach to follow.
